LEVEL 1

(Fresh Water)


Originates from a clean water source and is no substantial risk from skin contact, ingestion, or inhalation exposure initially. After time, it will cause structural damage as well as health risks from the surfaces or materials it comes into contact with.

LEVEL 2

(Rain, dishwasher, etc.)

Has some possible contamination and the potential to cause discomfort or sickness if you come into contact with or ingest into your body. It may contain unsafe levels of bacteria, as well as other chemical or biological materials.

LEVEL 3

(Sewage, silt or rising water)​

This is extremely contaminated and may contain pathogenic, toxigenic or other harmful agents (these water sources may carry silt, organic matter, pesticides, heavy metals, or toxic organic substances).​

 

SOLUTIONS

 

DEALING WITH A LEVEL 1 WATER DAMAGE:

  • Locate water source

  • Fix leak

  • Extract water from carpet

  • Remove damaged material

  • Dry wet locations

DEALING WITH A LEVEL 2 WATER DAMAGE:

  • Locate wet area

  • Remove water from carpet

  • Remove damaged material

  • Clean affected areas

  • Dry carpet and structure in place

  • Reinstall cleaned, existing carpet Or 

  • Install new carpet and sub carpet

THE STEPS FOR DEALING WITH A LEVEL 3 CARPETED AREAS:

  • Apply disinfectant

  • Extract sewage

  • Remove/dispose of carpet and pad

  • Steam clean floor

  • Apply additional disinfectant; Install drying equipment and air cleaner


THE STEPS FOR LEVEL 3 HARD SURFACE AREAS:

  • Apply initial disinfectant

  • Extract sewage

  • Steam clean floor

  • Apply final disinfectant

  • Install drying equipment and air cleaner
